Case Study

B, aged 60, was supported into housing by our Resettlement Team after becoming homeless following the breakdown of a family relationship.

Grieving the loss of her partner - whom she had cared for until his passing - B was evicted from the family home she had lived in for over twenty years. With nowhere else to turn, she was sleeping in her car when we met her.

She was supported by one of our dedicated support workers, who quickly identified underlying health issues during their first meeting. A successful application for Personal Independence Payment (PIP) was submitted, strengthening her case for rehousing. She was soon offered a bungalow. Overjoyed, B shared that she finally felt she had her autonomy back. With a safe space to call her own, she could begin rebuilding her life, reconnect with others, and experience a sense of normality once again.
