Temporary Family Accommodation

Working closely with Plymouth City Council, we provide emergency housing to families who are at risk of homelessness. We aim to prevent unnecessary B&B stays by offering immediate, family-friendly homes.

About the Programme

We manage a range of properties across Plymouth, providing temporary housing for families in need. Our work is rooted in compassion, efficiency, and collaboration with local partners.

Our properties are spread throughout Plymouth – from the city centre to Crownhill, Stoke, and Efford. We manage a variety of property types including:

  • Family houses (2–6 bedrooms)

  • Self-contained flats

What we do

  • Manage over 35 temporary accommodation properties for families referred by the local council.

  • Prevent homelessness by offering housing before families are placed in emergency hotels.

  • Work with the council to match families to available properties based on need (e.g., number of bedrooms).

  • Provide essentials such as white goods, beds, blankets, and vouchers for cutlery/clothing if needed

How We Support Families

Our team is hands-on, practical, and always ready to help.

  • Property checks every 4 weeks

  • Help with housing benefit, Universal Credit & top-ups

  • Referrals to family support services, food parcels, and more

  • Guidance through every stage of moving, settling, and sustaining a home

Referrals

All our housing placements come via Plymouth City Council. If you're in need of housing, please contact your local authority to complete a homelessness application.

Our Impact

We manage over 35 properties and support hundreds of families every year, working closely with local councils and agencies to provide stable housing solutions. Around half of the families we assist are in work, often balancing employment alongside the challenges of housing transitions.
