We provide temporary accommodation for single people via shared houses in Plymouth. The aim is to provide accommodation while people find somewhere more permanent to live.
If you are in one of our temporary accommodation houses, this means that you will be given a license agreement and can usually stay for a maximum of 6 months.
It is your responsibility, whilst you are accommodated with us, to pay rent and that includes a weekly service charge. This is a contribution towards bills, such as, gas, electric and wifi. This can be paid a number of ways:

What is a license agreement?
It is a legal document between you and Path outlining expectations whilst you are living in our accommodation.
Why do I need to pay a service charge?
The housing benefit you receive only covers the rent, so it is each tenant’s responsibility to take on a proportion of the household bills they use.
This helps pay towards heating & lighting and to give you all the amenities you need, including wifi and allows you to watch tv in the house lounge. We also provide eco-friendly washing-up liquid and detergent.
How do I pay my top-up?
It is best to arrange a Standing Order through your bank on the day your universal credit is paid. This will then allow you to budget your money for the rest of the month. If you are unable to do this, then we can take payments over the phone, via our website or via the workers managing the house.
When and why would you evict someone?
The main reasons you would be given an eviction notice are for:
What happens if I am struggling financially and I need extra support?
There are support services that we can try to link you with.
What happens if I start work?
You need to notify us immediately as your housing benefit will stop and you will be responsible for the rent. Ideally we would encourage you to discuss this with your housing worker so they can help you move into private rented accommodation with the help of our private rented access service.
If you forget to tell us, then full charges for rent will take effect from your first day of work.
How do I make a complaint about any issues I may experience?
You need to talk to your housing worker first and if you are not happy with the outcome you can follow our complaints procedure that is on our website. https://www.pathdevon.org/uploads/6/4/8/8/64882403/complaints_policy_and_procedure.pdf
