Homelessness Action Week
10 - 17 October
Inspiring Conversations. Creating Understanding. Building Hope.
Homelessness is often misunderstood. Many people don't realise that housing problems can affect anyone and that support is available long before a crisis develops.
Between 10 and 17 October, Path will be bringing communities across Plymouth together for its first ever Homelessness Action Week.
Through art, storytelling and community events, we'll be exploring what home means, challenging common misconceptions about homelessness and helping people understand how support can make a difference before a housing crisis occurs.
This week-long programme will feature exhibitions, creative projects, public engagement activities and opportunities for local people to get involved, all designed to start meaningful conversations and encourage positive action.
Celebrating Creativity Across Plymouth
As part of Plymouth's annual Artober programme, a vibrant festival showcasing the best of the South West's artistic community, Path will take over a gallery space at Royal William Yard, showcasing artwork inspired by themes of:
Home
Hope
Homelessness
Plymouth
The exhibition will feature contributions from artists, makers, photographers, writers and creatives from across the city, offering different perspectives on belonging, community and resilience.
How You Can Take Part
Volunteer
We're looking for volunteers to help bring Homelessness Action Week to life.
Whether you're supporting with exhibitions or community engagement activities, your time can help make a real difference.
Host a Pop-up Path
Schools, workplaces, community groups and local organisations can host a
Pop-up Path session during the week.
These sessions provide information about homelessness, available support
and practical ways people can help create positive change.
Help Raise Awareness
Our digital campaign toolkit makes it easy to get involved online.
Share resources, challenge stereotypes and help spread important messages about homelessness across Plymouth and beyond.

Share your story
Have you experienced homelessness, housing insecurity, or a time when you were at risk of losing your home?
If you feel comfortable doing so, we’re inviting people with these experiences to share a short, anonymised voice note about what that experience was like for them.
You’re in control of what you share. You don’t need to give your name, identify yourself, or talk about anything you would rather keep private.
By sharing these experiences, we hope to help people better understand the human reality of homelessness and housing insecurity.

Why Homelessness Action Week Matters
Homelessness Action Week creates opportunities for people to learn more, hear real stories, challenge assumptions and understand how we can all play a part in preventing homelessness.
Together, we can create a city where conversations lead to understanding, understanding leads to action and everyone has the opportunity to find a place to call home.
